# Vault of The Museum of Crypto Art

*June 27, 2026 — Kasper Bergholt*

In 2023, the Museum of Crypto Art (MOCA) held a fundraiser to which more than 700 artists and creators contributed works.

The individual pieces were later combined into a colorful mosaic, an echo, perhaps coincidental, of The Million Dollar Homepage, which began selling its 1,000,000 pixels of screen real estate on August 26th, 2005.

My contribution, later titled*Vault of the Museum of Crypto Art*, is a photograph taken in the Copenhagen Metro in June 2023 with a[*Nikon D3*](<https://bergholt.net/nikon>)from 2007 and a 55mm f/2.8 lens from around 1989.

I think the work triggered something nostalgic, which turned into[*ICE | July | 1982*](<https://bergholt.net/poetry>), inspired on the one hand by William Gibson’s cyberpunk literature from the early 1980s, where black ICE first surfaces in*Burning Chrome*, and on the other by thoughts of archives and archiving.
